Mumbai-based celebrity fashion designer Umair Zafar will design a special wardrobe for Miss Canada Worldwide participant Neha Karamchandani for the main event to be held in April says a little birdie. When Newz66 contacted Umair Zafar, he refused to divulge any details. “I am not at liberty to speak to the media about this client at this stage,” said Umair Zafar unwilling to give us any more masala on the outfits involved. Neha Karamchandani who visited Mumbai earlier this month was also travelling and unavailable for comment in spite of several attempts to contact her.
Newz66 did some probing and found out that Umair Zafar will be designing 2-3 outfits for the international event to be held in end-April or May this year. The outfits are very sophisticated and will include heavy embroidery and embellishments. Our sources say that one outfit will be a mango-yellow colored gown and another gown will be a fusion of an anarkali and a western gown. The outfits are an amalgamation of traditional Indian and western looks. The fabrics are Indian, while the cuts and silhouette are more westernized. Chiffon, georgettes, brocade word and velvet are some of the fabrics used in the making of the gowns and the value of the two gowns is approximately Rs Two lakh, said the little birdie chirping merrily. Umair Zafar has also designed a tiger print designer swim wear bikini for Neha Karamchandani for the swimwear round, Newz66 has learnt.
All the outfits will be ready for delivery about next week and Neha is expected to do a trial shoot too for Umair Zafar, says the birdie.
